Diary of an islander: Instead of gazing at the sky in the hope of seeing the Northern lights, we spend our nights watching American TV shows and eating chocolate covered licorice or licorice covered chocolate. When the endless days and nights of summer return, they erase the winter from our memory.

If we didn’t have the capacity to forget the dark winter nights we would probably have left a long time ago.
