Um bókina
The Skagen Painters were a group of Scandinavian artists who came together around the turn of the twentieth century in Skagen, Denmark’s northernmost point, where two oceans meet. They formed a particular school of painting, inspired by the unique quality of light at Skagen.
The book contains 37 pictures of beautiful artworks by all the most important of the Skagen Painters. A short introduction is written by Holger Koefoed, art historian.
„This country is mild, smiling, fantastic, mighty, wild, wonderful and awe-inspiring … it is Skagen – there is no other place on the face of this earth like it.“ This is how the Norwegian painter Christian Krohg describes Skagen.
