Um bókina
The Icelandic artist Erró has long been a major figure of the international contemporary art scene. He is linked to Surrealism, Narrative Figuration, and Pop Art, but his work cannot be said to belong to any one of these in particular. Erró is a free electron within the world of contemporary art.
Erró once said: ‘Painting is a private form of Utopia: the pleasure of being contradictory, the happiness in being alone against all, the joy of provocation.’
This book is both an appetizer and a souvenir of Erró’s work. The book is produced in co-operation with the Reykjavík Art Museum, the owner of the world’s largest Erró collection. Text is written by Erró specialist Danielle Kvaran.
