Um bókina
At the beginning 2007, Pall Stefansson was travelling in twilight along the road from Kaolack to Dakar in Senegal.
In every village along the road he was met by the same sight: a football flying through the air. He decided to follow the football through the countries of Africa and the result is a unique insight into the continent’s football culture.
The reader is invited on a journey through the continent, from Capo Verde and Senegal in the West, to Ethiopia and Tansania in the East, from Marocco and Egypt in the North to South Africa in the South. The book shows the energy and joy of everyday life of Africans so often obscured by news of poverty and war.
Africa – the future of football is about football, but not in the sense that you would expect. Because nothing in Africa is as you would expect. This is a continent where you are met by the unexpected at every turn.
With a foreword by Didier Drogba, an introduction by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and epilogue by Ian Hawkey.
