In Jór! Horses in Icelandic Art Adalsteinn Ingólfsson brings together paintings and sculptures of horses from different periods of Icelandic art.

The goal is twofold: The book explores the different roles that the horse has played in Icelandic society during the vast social changes of the last 100 years or so. And, at the same time the works selected tell a story of Icelandic art and how it has changed in the course of this period.
